Dr. Magero holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research focus areas include agricultural productivity, youth employment, human capital, education, firm productivity, structural transformation, sustainable cities, poverty, and inequality, financial and economic inclusion, nometrics and statistical analysis, causal impact evaluation research designs, Household’s resilience to shocks analyses, vulnerability assessments, leave no one behind (LNOB) assessments, forced displacement analysis, Poverty analyses (Multidimensional and child poverty), and Food security analyses. He brings on board expertise on analysis of rigorous experimental and quasi experimental impact studies; micro-econometrics, econometrics and statistical analysis, causal impact evaluation research designs, Household’s resilience to shocks analyses, vulnerability assessments, leave no one behind (LNOB) assessments, forced displacement analysis, Poverty analyses (Multidimensional and child poverty), and Food security analyses, among others. Previously, he worked as a senior analyst on poverty and inequality with Development Initiatives, and post-doctoral researcher with the University of Manchester.
